I am so glad I contacted you and that I had a chance to work with Mariah. The confidence she gave me as a new mother as well as her honesty in letting me know there was nothing wrong with me for having struggles - are both priceless. C is doing great, he’s even slept through the night twice! He is a completely new baby and we couldn’t have done it without Mariah giving us the tips and confidence.

We worked with Beth on the first night we brought our daughter home.  She was so helpful and is the reason we made it through that evening!  After that, we worked with Tori on a regular basis.  Tori helped me with anything I needed---from light cleaning, to watching my daughter so I could nap, to showing me how to cut her fingernails and give her a bath.  As new parents, we learned so much through this experience and were able to keep our sanity in the early months because of the regular help that we received.

Lee was our postpartum doula after the birth of my daughter. We also have a son who's a toddler, so the first weeks at home were especially stressful.  Lee helped our family manage the transition with grace. She is thoughtful, observant, and always seem to know what we needed. She helped me take care of myself in the weeks after the birth, provided lactation support and knowledge about newborns, and assisted with general household upkeep for our family. She was so kind to our toddler, always willing to play or read him a book when I needed a rest.

Even though I was a second time mother, I seemed to barely recall how to care for a new baby (let alone myself!). Lee was invaluable in helping with both. I would recommend Lee to anyone without any reservations. She will improve your quality of life when you come home from the hospital with your little one. She is a fantastic person and a pleasure to spend time with.

Being first-time parents we had a lot of learning to do (putting the baby back to bed, swaddling, breast feeding techniques, soothing techniques, postpartum healing etc). Our doula helped us get through the challenging first weeks of no sleep as well. I would breastfeed the baby then she would take over so i could get some sleep. We would have struggled those first few weeks without her help. She was awesome!

Thank you so much for matching me with Tori. She was so supportive, helpful, and down to earth. Having her was such a wonderful thing for me in this transition period, especially after my husband went back to work and I was figuring things out on my own. Every week I would look forward to the days she came, not just for the help but because I really enjoyed talking with her and the company. I’m so glad we chose to work with Doulas of Philadelphia. It was a great decision and I would absolutely recommend it to anyone in the area having a baby.

I have an extremely fussy baby with reflux, and gas. He wakes up almost every hour and sometimes needs to be held to sleep. Initially he needed to be rocked, patted and "shh'd" to sleep. The first time I met Lee, I was sleep deprived and over tired. She came at 10pm and Ari (my 3 month old) began to cry. I didn't even get the chance to explain how he needed to be soothed or where anything was in the dark nursery. Lee jumped right in and adapted to the situation flawlessly. She got him back to sleep in less than 5 minutes without any instruction. She adjusted her technique based on my sons needs without having experience with him prior. Only my husband and I were able to do this before Lee. Her knowledge, experience, and consistency is worth everything to my family and I. I get to sleep soundly when Lee is here because I know my son is in good hands.
